the studio

UNIT9 is a global creative production company working at the intersection of experiential, interactive, and film. Since 1997, UNIT9 has built world-first work for the world's most ambitious brands—not by following where technology leads, but by knowing how to use it in service of genuine human feeling. With offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Florence, UNIT9 specializes in AI, VR, AR, gaming, film, animation, and experiential design. Named Ad Age Production Company of the Year (2019) and Campaign Tech Company of the Year (2020, 2021), UNIT9 has earned Emmy, Cannes Lions, 15 Webby Awards, 17 One Show Pencils, and 250+ FWA awards. UNIT9's philosophy: taste-led innovation—the best work happens when designers, technologists, directors, and engineers collaborate from the first idea, not the last mile. Every project answers one question: is it worth making?

Post AI Creativity: The Creative's Survival Guide

LANGUAGE: ENGLISH

The world doesn't need more creative output—it needs better ideas, made with conviction. Drawing from UNIT9's 25+ years pioneering digital production, Yates Buckley explores what creativity looks like after AI. Through real projects and honest examples, he reveals creative territories where synthetic output cannot reach—and new formats enabled only by generative technologies. This isn't theory about the future; it's practical guidance from the frontlines of production. What creative opportunities remain exclusively human? Which new formats can we build that weren't possible before? How do we navigate this transformation with both pragmatism and vision? For designers, directors, and creative leaders questioning their role in an AI-accelerated world, this talk offers a survival guide grounded in decades of making genuinely innovative work.
