Invisible Light is an interactive installation by Brutale Studio — an independent motion and visual design studio based in Milan — that introduces a new infrared sensing system capable of transforming any environment into a responsive field. Presence becomes input. Movement becomes output. The space itself begins to react.
The system works through an invisible light grid that detects the position and motion of anyone within it, translating physical behavior into real-time visual responses. There are no screens to tap, no controllers to hold, no instructions to follow. Your body is the interface. The way you move — slowly or suddenly, close or at a distance — shapes what you see.
What makes Invisible Light particularly compelling at DDD26 is not just the technology, but what it reveals about creative possibility. Three artists — Lara Fantone, MechBullRodeo, and Christian Nadile — each interpret the same sensing system through entirely distinct visual languages. Three different aesthetics. Three different creative approaches. One shared infrastructure.
